Atari Edge: We Take A Look At Atari VCS Confirmed Partner Code Mystics

At the launch of the Atari VCS Indiegogo campaign, Atari announced a list of confirmed partners. Many of the third party game studios have a long working relationship with Atari, and a few helped Atari create some highly popular franchises. Many questions have been asked over the months by fans and critics regarding what modern games will be available on the Atari VCS. With the confirmed list of game studios to date, we can examine, and get a better idea of the type of games that the studios have previously worked on with Atari. In a multi part series, we are going to take a closer look at some of the confirmed partners for the anticipated Atari VCS console. In this second installment, we take a look at game design studio Code Mystics.

Code Mystics was founded by Jeff Vavasour in 2009. One of the developers earliest notable successes was Atari's Greatest Hits which was downloaded over 6,000,000 times on Apple iOS devices alone. Code Mystics have developed games in such franchises as Age of Empires, Spyro the Dragon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania, Asteroids, and Pac Man among others, as well as for many consoles including the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4.

So what could this confirmed Atari VCS partner be working on to release on Atari's latest console? Let's take a look at what they have worked on with Atari in past projects.
